Beauty Makeup, Weddings, and Headshots
My biggest concern when applying makeup is to emphasize the beauty that's already there, and de-emphasize flaws. I focus on visually sculpting the face with careful contouring and highlights, and making the skin look as flawless as possible. Most of the time my work is very subtle and refined so that you see the person, not their makeup.
Face Painting and Fantasy Makeup
I love the transformation that comes through face painting. People get their faces painted and they suddenly inhabit another character or find a hidden side to themselves. It's theatrical, and enticing, and it's fun for all ages!
Body Painting and Baby-Bump Painting
I think the human body is so beautiful, and complex, and very inspiring. I've painted on canvas all my life, but there's something magical that happens when my "canvas" is alive and interactive. The art becomes a partnership and the paintings take on personality and dynamics that I could never create on a stagnant canvas to be hung on a wall somewhere.
Character Makeup and Film Makeup
Character makeup is a passion of mine. It stems from the joy I get seeing an actor take on a character and bring a story to life. I love being a part of that artistic process, and I'm a firm believer in creating a makeup that helps, rather than hinders the actor in their performance.
